This product is a handcrafted casual footwear which has been designed based on traditional shoe making in Persia that's called Giveh. This product Is a sustainable one with cork composite shoelace, Nano fabric for weaving upper part or socks, It also collaborates with Artificial Intelligence to indicate new form based on the old Giveh and main ergonomic features. In addition, the final package could be used as shoe rack and all products would be minted as NFT (Non fungible token) sneakers in Metaverse.

Production Technology
Zima casual shoe consists of two main production method, First one refers to make Cork composite shoelace, In order to reach that, the Industry uses "Direct Injection Plastic Mold" but in this project the combination is 96% Cork granule and 6% PU (Polyurethane) to strengthen the sole part. The second one is about socks part or woven upper part, It called Giveh-Baafi that means weaving traditional Giveh which has been done by rural women for decades.
Design Challenge
Working with Artificial Intelligence beta (Midjourney), along with research process of Culture, Market, Sociology, in order to comprehend the taste of customers, were the most complicated elements.
Project Duration
The project started in December 2021 and finished in April 2022 in Tehran, Iran.
Operation Flow
Zima offers various patterns, colors, tips which could be charming for so many customers. On the other hand, mixing the past and futuristic tools, such as Ai and new form of ergonomic shoelace that has been made by advanced softwares like Solidworks (Surface) and Keyshot, makes this product more enchanting.
Research
The most important tool in the field of study was verbal-visual (researcher-made questionnaire) and has benefited from the analysis of relevant experts (Delphi group). Also this project is looking forward to the interaction design, user-centered approach and Using analytical hierarchy process (AHP), library research, developing questionnaires, diagrams and studying selected designs from the perspective of performance, ergonomics, aesthetics and presenting the final design under the name of Zima. These footwears, could be considered as one of the most Eco-friendly sneakers, not only in Iran, but also worldwide.
Inspiration
Making Giveh as a traditional handcrafted footwear, constitutes a significant share of the income for different ethnicities in Persia. But the form and function does not match the tastes of users in modern societies, cause It can be beneficial through the perspective of business and exportation. So I decided to seek the culture, changes, technologies, and also young startups in high-tech materials, in order to redesign one of the most revenue-generating handcrafted products in whole history of Middle East.
