Unique Properties

The pillow naturally fits the head shape, effectively supports the back of the brain, neck, and shoulders in proportion. It prevents the cervical spine from deforming due to uneven force. Based on the ergonomic design, it is filled with multiple different rebound materials to meet the needs of different sleeping positions for all kinds of sleepers.

Production Technology

Featured a concave surface to fit the curve of the head, the back sleeping area is filled with 95% white goose down in the top and bottom, and 250g latex particles in the middle, forming the 10.5cm height. According to the ergonomic design, the three-layered three-dimensional filling provides both comfortable support and natural touch. The upper contacting layer of the back sleeping area uses 99% white goose down hand-selected by the craftsman, which breaks 800 bulkiness limit of the machine sorting goose down, reaching 920 bulkiness. The down content is measured more than 96.3%, which brings a more delicate and soft feeling.

Design Challenge

The pillow is creatively divided into three sections: a back sleeping area on the top middle, side sleeping areas on the two sides, and a cervical spine soothing area. According to the distance from the shoulder to the neck when lying on the side, the height of the side sleeping area of the pillow is 10.5cm, and the filling is 50% white goose down and 50% white goose feathers, which moderates softness and hardness, while maintain enough supporting force.

Project Duration

The product was designed in 2020 and it has been on the market since the winter in 2020.

Operation Flow

The pillow is divided into back sleeping area, side area and cervical spine soothing area with different height to reach a balanced structure. When sleeping on the back, the head forms a reverse traction with its own weight, which relieves the pressure on the cervical spine, relaxes the cervical spine, and stretches the healthy physiological curve of the cervical spine. The filling materials include white goose feathers and latex particles, and the cover fabric adopts 180 thread count 100% cotton fabric made in Japan, creating a soft touch and good resilience.

Research

Both the material and the shape design reflect the designer's meticulous care for the sleeper. With durable materials, the down pillow offers superior support and alignment year after year.

Inspiration

Inspired by ergonomics theories and optimization theory, Dongfangfu pillow starts from details and adopts upscale imported materials to provide a comfortable and healthy sleeping experience.

Dongfangfu Pillow has been a Iron winner in the Textile, Fabric, Textures, Patterns and Cloth Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
