Necklace for ChuCui
Dancing Crane is a crane shaped jewelry necklace. The designer outlines the curved crane neck with simple lines, which contrasts with the complex lines of the crane's tail and wings. The crane's head is connected to the crane's tail in the design, as if the crane is looking back and combing its feathers. During wearing, the user can use the buckles and components hidden behind the collar to split and group the necklace.

Dancing Crane is a crane shaped jewelry necklace. The entire crane neck is bent into a slender arc, which reflects the pursuit of line tension in oriental art. The designers outlined the shape of the entire piece with simple lines that contrast with the complex lines of the crane's tail and wings. It's very infectious. The crane's head is connected to the crane's tail, as if the crane is looking back and combing its feathers, it shows the vivid posture of the crane.

In terms of craftsmanship: there are many hidden buckles and components behind the collar, which can be split and combined. The tail on the left can be disassembled into a brooch, the wings on the right can be disassembled into a pendant, and the rest of the crane head and crane neck echo each other to form a simple necklace, which can be used for daily wear. Each piece of jewelry after dismantling is meticulously crafted, original and impressive. Crane's slender neck is outlined with 893 white diamonds totaling 10.274 carats. The black and white wings of the crane are embellished with 381 black diamonds totaling 5.605 carats. The clarity of the crane feathers is presented by 12 crystals of ice jadeite with a total weight of 3.655 carats. The bright crown of the red-crowned crane is crafted from a 1.38-carat ruby.
Several difficulties and challenges were encountered during the design process: how to express a bird in the form of a necklace? For this goal, we have tried countless times. At first, we put the whole crane on the front of the necklace, but it didn't seem to be ideal, because the crane's slender feet are difficult to handle, and it will also cause discomfort to the wearer- Crane legs are long and sharp. In addition, the whole crane as a picture will make people visually tired, and the whole work looks nothing special. The design draft was overturned countless times. Through continuous attempts, we gradually think that the neck of the crane is very long and can be used as the collar of the entire necklace, which looks very tense! We embellished the collar with black and white diamonds, and made it more like a slender crane neck with streamlined lines. It's beautiful! On the front of the necklace, we need to reflect some parts that best represent the crane. The head of the crane and its black and white feathers are the key points! So the general structure of our work gradually emerged. However, there are still some troubles in the middle: the head of the crane is on the left, the feather is on the right, and the left and right sides are out of balance in terms of gravity. If it is made into a necklace, the necklace will fall to the side of the feather. So we designed the necklace to be detachable 3 pieces, a black and white feather as the center of the front of the necklace, it can make the necklace always vertical in the middle position when wearing, and the crane head on the left is connected with this feather, It's like a crane tidying its feathers gently. On the right side of the necklace is a small piece of feather similar to a long strip, which together with the feather in the middle constitutes the body of the crane. In this way, the problem of weightlessness of the necklace is perfectly solved. For the two detachable feathers in the middle and the right, we installed brooches and pendant accessories on the back, so that they can be used as separate pendants and brooches. The crane with its two feathers removed retains the head and a thin feather. This is another simple necklace for everyday wear. It's really great!
The design of the Dancing Crane necklace lasted nearly 40 days in Shanghai, China.
During wearing, the user can use the buckles and components hidden behind the collar to split and group the necklace.
We want to design a refreshing evening necklace. There are already a lot of various cases. Flowers or abstract elements are the most used, which are too many to be aesthetically tiring. We wanted to find a special element that the audience would be surprised to see when they saw it, "Wow, never seen it before, it's amazing!". So we started searching for some unusual but very beautiful and culturally representative elements, and luckily we found it - the crane. In China, North Korea and Japan, people often draw cranes and tall and vigorous ancient pine trees together as a symbol of longevity. In ancient times, the crane was "under one bird and above all birds", second only to the bird of the phoenix. At the same time, the crane is the leader of the feather clan because of its immortal style and bones. "In addition, the crane's black and white feathers and slim body all make it aesthetically stylish. So we decided to choose the crane as the core material of this jewelry piece.
Crane is a symbol of the elegance of ancient Chinese celebrities, and it has a high status in Chinese culture. Crane feathers are as white as snow, black as charcoal, red tops are as red as blood, and the colors of ink painting express the noble meaning. The whole work is gorgeous and quiet. It is like a painting of dancing cranes, and the cranes stretch their wings in the sound of chirping.
