Bionic Knitting Technology regulates heat across all conditions, balancing warmth, breathability, and precise heat control. Cooling is enhanced by 8-channel yarn for quick moisture wicking and micro-vents for airflow. Warming utilizes thermal pockets for insulation, air channels for cooling, and lofted fleece to trap or release heat as needed. By transforming waste wood into sustainable polyester fabric
The main challenge was integrating biomimicry with sustainable production. Replicating the thermoregulation of hummingbirds required advanced software and machine precision, making creativity come true. Producing 100% wood-derived polyester also required supply chain collaboration to ensure quality and scalability. By overcoming production limitations, we balanced ecological responsibility with innovation.
The project started in Taiwan in 2024 and finished in 2025. It is set to be globally showcased starting in 2025
Perfect for activewear and everyday wear, this smart fabric blends sustainability with performance. It offers adaptive comfort and breathability, keeping users cool, dry, and stylish. It utilizes advanced computer jacquard technology to play with colors and integrate knit structures, taking knitting to the next level with precision pattern design.
Focuses on converting waste wood into bio-based chemicals, producing bio-polyester and bio-yarn for sustainable textiles. Bio-knitting technology regulates heat by adjusting yarn and structure, ensuring comfort in various conditions. Advanced computer jacquard technology creates color-shift effects and precise patterns and structures, transforming design concepts into functional fabrics.
Inspired by the rapid wingbeats and iridescent structural colors of hummingbirds, the design captures the fluid motion of air and shimmering hues, resulting in a dynamic and visually striking fabric. Functionally, mimicking how hummingbirds regulate heat during stop-start activities, the fabric provides optimized thermal regulation, balancing warmth and breathability as it transitions from activity to rest.
