Multifunctional Pendant for 1Karat
The Golden Viper pendant elegantly functions as secure ring storage, uniting symbolism and utility. Inspired by the snake as a sign of healing and renewal, the pendant enables a ring to be safely worn on a chain when it cannot be on the finger. Through a simple guiding motion, the ring is threaded through the pendant, where it rests securely without the need to remove the necklace. Its sculptural form, cast in 18k gold, blends refined aesthetics with practical wearability ideal for medical settings or active environments. Designed for elegance, comfort, and intuitive use.

"The Golden Viper" pendant elegantly serves as secure storage for a ring. The Golden Viper pendant was initially hand-sketched, digitally rendered using CAD software, prototyped, and subsequently cast in 18k gold (750). The finished piece is meticulously polished to a high gloss, ensuring a premium aesthetic.
Significant creative and technical challenges arose during prototyping and casting phases. Achieving consistently flawless casting without shrinkage cavities or distortion demanded multiple iterations. Overcoming these obstacles ensured structural integrity and aesthetic excellence in each finished pendant.
The project commenced in September 2024 and was completed in March 2025 in Steinbach (Taunus), Germany.
To secure a ring, the wearer guides it along the necklace chain through the snake-shaped pendant from the top, looping it back upwards, thus safely positioning it. To remove the ring, the wearer simply reverses the process without needing to take off the necklace.
The design required thorough empirical research into varying ring sizes to determine optimal pendant dimensions. Multiple prototypes were developed to test the snake pendant's adaptability and functionality. Insights from these tests allowed precise tailoring of the snake’s belly diameter, ensuring compatibility with different ring sizes and delivering a practical, user-friendly jewelry piece with tangible benefits for medical professionals.
The snake has symbolized medical virtues, healing, and immortality since ancient times. Recognizing that medical professionals cannot wear rings at work due to hygiene regulations - often leading to misplaced or lost wedding bands - this pendant was specifically designed as a practical and elegant solution in the form of a snake. Doctors and medical staff can securely store their rings on this necklace, preventing losses commonly associated with hospital attire while ensuring their rings remain easily accessible.
