Unique Properties
Ring from sterling silver, 18K gold, diamonds, designed and crafted by Apostolos Kleitsiotis. The harsh and natural oxidized silver surface, characteristic of his technique, accentuates in a particular way the qualities of the material, resulting in a special dark crystalline look which competes with the diamonds glint and the discreet presence of yellow gold. A jewellery with an organic, fluid and delicate form that feels comfortable on the hand.

Production Technology
The prototype of this ring crafted by hand, according to the original design, using thin forged silver wire and heat for welding. The mould was then manufactured and cast in sterling silver. The metal was oxidized with the classic ancient method of the goldsmiths. Thin pieces of 18K Gold were welded to Silver with fire and great care on specific parts of the ring. Then diamonds were set on the ring and the final finish followed.
Design Challenge
The technical challenge is the welding of gold on silver with flame, as the two metals have different melting points. The creative challenge is to design a fluid, three-dimensional shape that can be worn comfortably and to implement an innovative design using exclusively classic materials and techniques.
Project Duration
The prototype of this ring designed and crafted by the end of 2019 in Alexandroupoli, Greece.

A ring which gently embraces the finger.
Inspiration
An Angel in the movie of Wim Wenders, Wings of Desire 1987, falls in love with a beautiful girl. He trades his immortality and his sacred wings for her. This story was the inspiration for the creation of a complete jewellery line with the name Wing of Desire. The Ring belongs to this line and is an attempt to express the notion of passion, of love and fragility through a sense of flutter.
