Fanny Bag for Nasrin Bagheri Studio
The designer committed to the motto "less is more" in this project and simplicity is one of her criteria for design. Having this idea, she confronts Piet Mondrian's checkered paintings and his way of thinking for simplicity which inspires her. The result is a puzzle bag with a sequence of main colors that each implies a special meaning and concept of life. The Bellativita came from a geometric shape of a circle with a sliced circle serving as a holding place. This bag can be used daily as well as for occasions. Which can be worn as a belt, backpack, and handheld.

P.Mondrian tried to see the world simply but "not over reduce", after years of attempt, he could show this simplicity in the best way through his lines and main colors. N.B STU has also designed "Bellativita" in such a way that in a geometric form and with a simple flow for placing the hand and hidden lumbar strap, as well as systematic division of colors, it has achieved a form that besides symmetry and suitability of lines and selection of particular colors, It can be set with various styles.
Fashionable, Color Fashion, Fanny Bag
Based on the investigations and examinations done by the designer, the most important factors for choosing a fabric is being animal friendly and then being hydrophobic; as a result, water doesn’t penetrate the fabric, it does not stain easily, and there is no need to wash it frequently. Thus, suite fabric has been used in this product because of having synthetic fibers. Other materials that are used in this product are adhesive pads to stick different layers of the bag and cardboard to tighten the bag. The leather embroidery industry has also been used in this product.
As a woman, the challenge that I used to be involved with was to set my bag with my clothes and the mass that each bag occupies, and I was trying to eliminate this issue. But the challenges do not end here, and I had a lot of challenges during the design. The first challenge that I was faced with was what materials should be used to make the prototype, and the cardboard made me understand that the Bellativita must be strong enough to place the hand easily on that and keep the things safe inside the bag. The next point that I was faced with was the size of the strap, which I understood that the best option is to make it in the form of a belt to fit any size. And the last point was finding a professional person to make Bellativita and I realize that most people are afraid of seeing differently and do not follow new things and most people want me to change my design but this issue made me more determined to present a different design and break the structures.
This project began in November, 2018 in Tehran. In the first month, research on minimalism and the works of Piet Mondrian were studied. Next field further research was done to choose form, colors, and exploring similar products on the market. Then I reached the design section and the initial model and then the main model were made in July, 2019 in Tehran. This product has not been displayed in any exhibition before.
Bellativita has a simple operation since it can be transformed from a night bag to a day bag and vice versa, by only adding a waistband to attach to the waist and for shoulder use. This bag can easily change use just by removing and adding a strap. Moreover, its simple but distinctive form for placing hand has given a special beauty to that. Bellativita can be set with any color theme since it’s a kind of useful bag for both daily use and night parties and also main colors have been used in this product to create a different look.
For the present project, the research was first about style and choosing the way. For the designer, looking simply was considered as one of the main elements in the design, following this point of view, she encountered with the works of Piet Mondrian. After that, in order to design a different and beautiful bag, field research was done to completely recognize the user's desires and tastes. After passing the necessary processes, in order to determine the weaknesses and strengths of the design the prototype was made with replica, then to reach a design with observance of ergonomics the required improvements were made. Now, Bellativita is ready to spend the whole day and night with you.
Bellativita committed to this motto (less is more). A bag that is at the same time simple and minimal focuses on versatility in order to be user-friendly. Using the circle form which is the mother of all geometric shapes and the colored puzzle checkered of the bag are indicative of liberty and living simply. These colored checkered are taken from the paintings of P.Mondrian. Put its strap on your waist or shoulder or you can take away the strap and hold it in your hand like a dignified lady.
