Unique Properties
Sunrise Sunset Ring of infinite cycles and motion forms invites you to interact while wearing it on depends on your mood, your style that suits the moment. In horizontal position the ring is closed and when you start to rotate the torus counter clockwise the diamond is switching on and begins to brighten up until the brightest point in which the tube stands vertical and open. You can stop the movement in any position you like to create more of infinite cycles and motion.

Production Technology
The ring is finely handcrafted with genuine 925 sterling silver in high polished finish. A main body and the movable half torus part which are connected to each other with a hidden screw at the edge of the main rigid body.
Design Challenge
Some of the challenges I faced included how to stabilize the screw and how the user would use it. I had a hard time creating stability in the ring's movements with a reasonable force applied and making sure the the ring would turn not too fast or slow, in a balanced way.
Project Duration
The project started in December 2018 in Istanbul and finished in December 2020 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Operation Flow
The silver ring has two parts where there is one has rigid body with a fixed position half torus and the other one is movable, capable of being turned. The user can toggles between one of many states, in between closed and open by turning the movable part. The ring can be worn with the movable part is fully open, partially or fully closed. Each position therefore becomes a new design, a new expression, a a new ring.
Research
The research for the project started on the idea of sunset sunrise forms' and movement are inspired by the relationship of geometry, geography and astronomy. The related movement of the light source and reflecting plate reminds us of the constantly changing positions of the Sun and Earth in orbit.
Inspiration
Sunset Sunrise Ring that transforms the forms into a setting for an artificial infinite loop of infinitely shifting movements inspired by sunset and sunrise. Sunrise and sunset are a little more complex than just day to night or vice versa, because there are different types of light and the illumination of the sky doesn’t just simply go from daylight to the black of night. The moments of the day when the light is most intriguing, when the sun rises, large in the sky, and when it sets, smaller, on the horizon. The various movements of the ring brings constant transformation and change which suggest the two moments of the day when the light is most intriguing, when the sun rises, large in the sky, and when it sets, smaller, on the horizon.
