This work is a ring that has been designed in the form of modern art and based on the works of abstract painter Pete Mondrian. A ring with a ring on one finger, the middle finger, but the top plate extends up to three fingers. For this reason, thin lines are used that are not heavy. In fact, the black lines are in rectangular shapes with different sizes, and in some of these squares, yellow, red, blue and white gems are placed based on the colors of the artist's works.

Production Technology

To design this product, after researching the works of Pete Mondrian, first various and very different designs were drawn on paper, and after many modifications and changes, it was implemented in the appropriate software. The method of making this product is also simple and can be made by casting or even by hand. In this product, black gold and colored gems have been used. The gems used are: emerald for green, ruby for red, sapphire for blue, citrine for yellow and diamond for white.

Design Challenge

One of the main obstacles for the researcher-designer-lack of easy access (depending on the country of origin) to all the works of this precious artist has been. Also, most of the available resources for research in this field were in English, and therefore it took a long time to be able to prepare a good research and therefore an appropriate design.

Project Duration

The project started in February 2022 in Isfahan and finished in March 2022 in Isfahan. This project is one of the collection which designed jewelry based on famous abstract painting.

Operation Flow

This work can not only be aesthetically influential on the audience but also due to its inspiration from works of art, it can be a reminder of the countless values of art and works of art in life. On a closer look, it can point to the ideal world of Pete Mondrian and even all of us, where balance can solve the world's problems and give people a better world; The balance that can be seen in the works of Pete Mondrian and this work can encourage the audience to establish this balance.

Research

The research was applied and the method of data collection was the library. The main purpose of this study was to make the public more familiar with the works of Pete Mondrian and his utopia - the philosophy and purpose of his works; Because the goal and philosophy of his works was to establish a better world and in fact a utopia. The result of this research, which is the design of jewelry based on his works, can not only remind us of the importance of purposeful works of art; Rather, by balancing, one can reduce the evils of the world and create a more beautiful world for oneself and others.

Inspiration

This work is inspired by the abstract works of "Pete Mondrian". Because in his view, all the problems of humanity (war, injustice, suffering, poverty, etc.) originate in the imbalance between opposites in the world, and he tried to create a balance in composition, lines and colors in his works. With his works, he showed not only his dreams, but the dreams of the whole world; And no language is better for expressing wishes than the language of simplicity. Hence, his works have inspired my world.

Pete Mondrian Utopia Ring has been a Bronze winner in the Jewelry Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality.
