The Lock is a distinctive feature of the brand's jewelry line. Its trademarked design allows for endless personalization, enabling users to create their own compositions of necklaces. Available in materials like 14k gold, 24k gold-filled 925 sterling silver, or black rhodium-plated silver, it provides versatility. Its design facilitates interchangeability of various elements like pearls, turquoise, wood, or coral, allowing users to create unique combinations reflecting their style

Production Technology

The production process encompasses both manual and 3D design, along with the creation of prototypes. This is followed by high-precision casting, the use of laser technology and traditional welding, and a hand-finished touch. At the last step, depending on the order, it is either produced from 14k gold or filled with micron gold over 925 sterling silver.

Design Challenge

The HoS lock design should balance aesthetics, functionality, and comfort by addressing these necessities: 1)It should be big enough to have sufficient interior space for a complex interior design, ensuring that both ends of the House of Sol lock can be mutually opened, but it should still be visually appealing by not being too large. 2) The lock must be strong and sturdy to support numerous heavy lines of pearls and chains simultaneously, yet still lightweight and comfortable enough to be worn for long hours We spent more than a year conducting research and development, creating multiple prototypes, to design a lock that meets all the desired specifications above, after that we launched the brand.

Project Duration

The process of concept making and design began in Istanbul at GrandBazaar in 2020 and was finished in the subsequent year.

Operation Flow

The House of Sól lock has a rare feature where both ends can be opened simultaneously, unlike typical jewelry locks. Furthermore, the lock can be operated with one hand, offering women autonomy in jewelry wear. Each lock end functions independently, providing unmatched versatility. This detachability allows the lock to be used interchangeably on various necklaces, a unique characteristic that sets it apart in the market where conventional locks are permanently attached to necklaces.

Inspiration

House of Sól (HoS) offers a unique take on fast fashion, with a design strategy revolving around the lock. This blend of function and aesthetics has resulted in sustainable jewelry collections that are cherished worldwide. One HoS lock opens up a world of personalization, allowing customers to create their collection from elements like pearls, turquoise, wood, or coral necklaces from HoS' collection. They can also mix&match different necklaces and bracelets from the HoS collection as well as their personal ones.
