Production Technology
Crafted from white diamond stones with a brilliant cut certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Colombian emeralds featuring a rare cut, each piece is meticulously set on bases made of 18-carat gold.
Design Challenge
Challenges arose during both the design and production phases. Sourcing emeralds of consistent quality and size posed initial hurdles, as did devising a method to construct the gold settings that ensured both durability and aesthetic appeal. By reimagining the setting as spherical gold cups interconnected by shared clasps, the design achieved both physical cohesion and visual elegance.
Project Duration
The project was designed and produced in Tehran, Iran, in 2024.
Operation Flow
The design exudes a graceful flow, accentuated by the gradual enlargement of the stones, evoking a sense of dynamism and continuity. The juxtaposition of green and white stones enhances their individual brilliance, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow.
Research
Extensive research was conducted to refine the design. Iterative sketches and prototypes were developed, gradually evolving the size and arrangement of stones. Modifications were made to the gold framework to accommodate the unique characteristics of the stones. The final design incorporates four gold clasps, providing both structural integrity and a minimalist aesthetic.
Inspiration
Drawing inspiration from the circular form prevalent in architecture and Eastern culture, it symbolizes endless cycles such as birth, death, and the perpetual succession of seasons, narrating the tale of regeneration. Additionally, it reflects the contrast found in nature between the winter's white snow and the spring's green foliage, blending these hues harmoniously.
