Multifunctional Ring for Mergin Jewlery
This multifunctional handcrafted ring is designed with the idea of being versatile. It can easily transform into a pendant or a brooch as needed. Each side of the ring is delicately designed. Even the back side is handmade and adorned with tanzanite stone. Despite its large size, the ring is comfortable to wear. The concept behind designing Queen of Lake is Monet's Water Lilies and the unique application of colors by Monet, who suffered from visual impairment, but that didn't stop him from his iconic creative path. This ring is a reflection of a designer's innovative artistic vision.

Queen of Lake,Multifunctional Ring,,Diamond,Fine Jewelry
The ring is handcrafted from 18k yellow gold, with a 16mm diameter South Sea pearl. The bending process of the flower petals is completely done by hand, and the petals are adorned with a total of 80 F-color, VVS-clarity diamonds. A total of 21 pieces of round, trilliant, and oval-shaped tanzanites are used. Most parts of the ring are handmade. The technique used to create small parts is the casting method. Setting methods applied include pave setting and grain setting.
The most challenging aspect of the design was to develop a convenient method for changing the pendant into a ring. It was essential to maintain the safety and delicacy of the pin behind the brooch at the same time. Due to the limited free space, setting various forms of tanzanite stones under the petals was quite challenging. The back side of the jewelry had to be designed precisely because a pin and safety lock are located on the backside when the shank is detached, and it has to look elegant.
The project started in February 2023 in Dubai and finished in August 2023 in Dubai .
This multifunctional ring operates in a simple way. To change it into a ring from a pendant, the shank is smoothly placed on two small indentations behind it, and the security lock is fixed. To change it into a brooch, the security lock is opened, and the shank is detached from the back. A safe and delicate pin can then be used. Wearing it as a pendant is done easily by sliding the chain through a part of the design acting as a loop.
To maintain comfort and versatility possibilities, research has been done on construction methods. The back pin design of the ring has been refined multiple times to achieve the desired elegance and security simultaneously. In terms of choosing gemstones, extensive research was conducted on Monet's life and his Water Lilies series to find a perfect match that complements the color of the water in his work; this led to choosing tanzanite. Diamonds were added to the petals to make it more radiant. Pink pearls were intentionally selected to symbolize hope in the design.
Inspired by Monet's Water Lilies, the handmade multifunctional ring was designed. It is adorned with diamonds to enhance the brilliance of the white lilies and tanzanite to capture the vivid purple color of the lake. Monet's artistic vision, despite his visual impairment, resulted in exaggerated colors like the purple lake. I was inspired by his innovative spirit to create a fine jewelry that reflects his iconic style. It was inspiring to me how a physical defect could create a masterpiece.
