Crocheted is a piece of jewelry, more precisely, a maxi-necklace. The design uses the Brazilian handcrafted lace patterns and their delicate cutouts as the main elements in the structure of the project. Crocheted necklace is made of brass and has a slightly tarnished finish.

Crocheted necklace was designed in vector software to be reproduced on sheet metal through laser cutting. The metal used was brass with a brushed and slightly tarnished finish. The necklace consists of 12 cut-out pieces imitating floral lace joined by mini rivets. For the lashing on the neck, a grosgrain ribbon was chosen which gives the piece a light and romantic touch.
In Crocheted design, two major challenges were faced. The first one was to put so many cut details into small pieces, the laser cut precision and the size of the hollow spaces was something that always had to be considered. The second challenge was how to put these pieces together so that the necklace wouldn't be too rigid, not following the person's movements. The rivets were the solution found for the necklace to have this slight movement.
Crocheted necklace had its first sketch in March/2014 and was produced in June of the same year.
Crocheted is a maxi-necklace and was created to be used as a Statement Jewelry.
Crocheted necklace was designed using as inspiration the handcrafted lace made in the northeast of Brazil. The necklace was developed for a large fashion exhibition in Sao Paulo that had Brasilidade ("Brazility") as its main theme. The lace work was chosen not only for its beauty, but for the northeastern tradition. It is a handcrafted work done exclusively by women and passed from mothers to daughters for more than 200 years.
Crocheted necklace was designed using the handcrafted lace made in northeast of Brazil as an inspiration. The lacemaking has been carried out in Brazil since the beginning of the 18th century. The lacemaking is a tradition brought from Portugal to Brazil. Initially, only Portuguese women were the ones who mastered the technique and soon afterwards the Brazilian northeastern women learned their craftwork. The lacemaking technique has been passed down from mothers to daughters, for generations, over 200 years ago.
