This earring only uses one wire to support everything, forming a three-dimensional structure. Design Challenge
The most difficult part of this project is how to achieve consistency in the perspective of each product when making it. Because it is purely handmade, there will be some slight deviations when adjusting each different spatial angle, but any slight deviation will also change the final shape. So we spent a lot of time and energy to adjust it when making the plate, and because of the characteristics of the silver material itself, we still need to constantly adjust its load-bearing capacity and center of gravity and whether the final weight is acceptable.
Project Duration
The project started in December 2019 in Beijing and finished in April 2020 in Wuhan.
Operation Flow
According to different light exposure and different structural space display, it creates different visual effects. It looks like a separate picture from every angle.
Research
The starting point of this project comes from the problems and feelings we encountered in the actual design and production of products in the past year by talking to hundreds of customers and trying to understand their needs.We find that many people have misunderstandings about the material, and they will simply judge the value and price of a work based on whether it has a complicated shape and beautiful gems etc.. Even our family.In many cases, the size of a gem in the eyes of consumers is even greater than to feel a work. This reminds us of many fairy tales we have seen when we were young. We have also made many models to adjust its structural form and spatial display, in order to allow people to pay more attention to the design itself.
Inspiration
Niceness are always easy to be overwhelmed, just like gems. It will make people trance, and also make people no longer satisfied with appreciation. The fairy tale of "The Emperor's New Clothes" gave us lots of inspiration.At the moment when many people are chasing excess material desires and endless comparison psychology, we want to express through this work to tell people whether they have it or not，all is well.
